Both the Spokane (22-11) and the Yakima Valley (14-14) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Spokane that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-2 win at Art Wright - Kent.
Shawnee Zink put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Spokane. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Emily Elam paced the Yakima Valley at the plate. Elam went 2-2 and scored one run. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Haylie Van Laethem improved to 7-6 on the year by picking up the win for the Spokane. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Van Laethem struck out two, walked none and gave up nine hits.
Kayla Reynolds (10-6) took the loss for the Yakima Valley. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
