The Pierce offense too much for the South Puget Sound in 11-3 rout

The Pierce (14-15) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the South Puget Sound (0-23), recording an 11-3 victory on Tuesday at Yauger Park.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Pierce to put the game away early.

A two-run double by Courtney Cox and a passed ball in the first inning and a three-run double by Brittanie Halquist and an RBI double by Maddy Smith during the second inning fueled the Pierce's offense early.

Halquist racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Pierce.

Kelsi Goodwin racked up eight strikeouts in the the Pierce win. Goodwin allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk over five innings.

Jordanne Krumpols got on base two times in the game for the South Puget Sound. He doubled in the fourth inning.

Amanda Rupright ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his twenty-first loss of the year. He allowed 11 runs in five innings, walked three and struck out two.
