Holly Hawkins both hit and pitched well for the Skagit Valley (8-17), but it wasn't enough as the Skagit Valley fell to the Yakima Valley (13-11) 3-2 at Skagit Playfields on Friday.
Hawkins racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Skagit Valley. He doubled in the sixth inning.
Hawkins allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks while striking out three over eight innings of work.
Kayla Reynolds's 10 strikeouts helped the Yakima Valley to the victory. Reynolds allowed two earned runs on four hits and one walk over eight innings.
Hawkins (2-7) was the game's losing pitcher.
