The Mt. Hood (24-0) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Highline (6-16), recording a 24-4 victory on Saturday.
The game was decided quickly as the Mt. Hood exerted their will early with 13 runs in the first three innings.
An RBI single by Teauna Hughes in the first inning fueled the Mt. Hood's offense early.Kasidee Lemberger put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Mt. Hood. He homered in the fourth inning, doubled in the first and fifth innings, and singled in the fifth inning.
Kristen Crawford put together a nice outing. Crawford held the Highline hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.
Nicole Kellams got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed four runs over three innings. Kellams struck out one, walked seven and gave up two hits.
Benita Beale ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 23 runs in three innings, walked one and struck out two.
The Mt. Hood easily handled the Highline pitching as six hitters combined for 17 hits, 10 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
