Shawnee Zink had two extra base hits, helping the Spokane (14-9) to a 9-4 victory over the Columbia Basin (8-11) on Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.
He doubled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.It was a good day at the plate for the Columbia Basin's Bailey Walthers. Walthers went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth and sixth innings.
Kelly Taylor improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Spokane. He allowed four runs over seven innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered nine hits.
Janelle Randles (6-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
The Spokane's Morgan Mays, Shalaina Duford, Zink and Lexi Miller combined for nine hits and six RBIs.
