Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

Early lead not enough for the Highline, drop 6-1 decision to the Pierce

Story by Narrative Science.

The Highline (4-12) built an early edge on Friday, but the Pierce (11-8) roared back to steal a 6-1 victory.

While the Highline led until the sixth inning, the Pierce worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run double by Maddy Smith.

Corrine Luke was solid at the plate for the Pierce. Luke went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning.

The Pierce relied on Kelsi Goodwin to eat up innings en route to the win. Goodwin pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk while striking out three.

Hayley Craddock was hot from the plate for the Highline. Craddock went 2-3 and drove in one. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Craddock ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out one.
