Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Tuesday as the Santa Fe Fuego (45-22) outscored the Taos Blizzard (22-41) 16-9.

The teams totaled 31 hits in the game.

Ten runs in the opening three innings allowed the Santa Fe Fuego to easily put away the Taos Blizzard. A sacrifice fly by Craig Massey and an RBI single by Charles Johnson during the first inning and a fielder's choice, an RBI single by Chevas Numata, and a home run by Brice Cutspec in the second inning helped the Santa Fe Fuego put some runs on the board early.

Numata racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Santa Fe Fuego.

Jeremiah Steinert recorded his eighth win for the Santa Fe Fuego even though he allowed seven runs over 5 2/3 innings. Steinert struck out two, walked three and gave up 10 hits.

Joe Katin (3-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in three innings, walked five and struck out two.
