Tyler Heck went 2-4 as the Alpine Cowboys (36-17) took home a 7-3 victory over the Las Vegas Train Robbers (14-33) at Kokernot Field on Thursday.
He tripled in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.The Alpine Cowboys got the win thanks in large part to Josh Cruse's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Cruse allowed three earned runs on three hits and four walks over seven innings.
Shane Casey had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Clint Manzo ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
