The Raton Osos (11-18) had a tough outing on Sunday, as the Santa Fe Fuego (19-12) dominated in a 12-6 win at Fort Marcy Park.
A three-run home run by Joey LaCugna delivered the runs in the third. The Santa Fe Fuego had three hits in the inning.
Charles Johnson racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He homered in the first inning, singled in the second and fourth innings, and doubled in the fifth inning.
The Raton Osos had no answer for Briston Clingman, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Raton Osos managed just three hits off of the the Santa Fe Fuego's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his five innings of work.
Evan Richard did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Raton Osos, reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the fifth and ninth innings.
Derrick Mitchell (0-5) took the loss for the Raton Osos. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked two and struck out seven.
