The Lane (24-16) beat the Chemeketa (20-21) 8-3 on Thursday at Chemeketa behind Spencer Smith, who went 2-5.
He singled in the first inning and doubled in the second inning.Chris Neifert had an impressive outing against the Chemeketa's lineup. Neifert held the Chemeketa hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Jackson Bertsch recorded his fourth win of the year for the Lane. He allowed three runs over five innings. Bertsch struck out three, walked three and gave up five hits.
Martin Brown (2-5) took the loss for the Chemeketa. He allowed eight runs in 8 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out five.
