Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Monday as the Florida Barons (7-13) outscored the Pompano Beach Clippers (11-7) 12-10.

The two teams combined for 20 hits in the game.

Gabriel Aurrecoechea had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and eighth innings.

The Pompano Beach Clippers had no answer for Matthew Garmendia, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Garmendia gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Anthony Mazzurco got his first win for the Florida Barons despite allowing seven runs over 3 2/3 innings. Mazzurco struck out two, walked five and gave up eight hits.

Brandon Burgess (1-1) took the loss for the Pompano Beach Clippers. He allowed nine runs in two innings, walked three and struck out two.
