The California Expos put in a full day's work in a 10-inning, 5-3 win over the Atwater Aviators (17-24) Sunday at Fireman's Memorial Ballpark.

Christian Funk was hot from the plate for the California Expos. Funk went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first and ninth innings and doubled in the tenth inning.

JJ Santa Cruz pitched lights out for the California Expos. Santa Cruz held the Atwater Aviators hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out seven.

Despite the loss, the Atwater Aviators' Kyle Treadway dominated the California Expos' batters, giving up two runs and striking out eight.

Brent Backlund (6-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
