An excellent effort by Sal Annunziata carried the Harwich Mariners (25-16) to a 10-0 win over the Chatham Anglers (17-25) on Thursday at Veterans Field.
Annunziata blasted two home runs for the Harwich Mariners. Annunziata went 2-3 in the game with three RBIs and four runs scored. Annunziata homered in the fifth and sixth innings.
The biggest inning for the Harwich Mariners was the seventh. The Chatham Anglers had no answer as the Harwich Mariners scored six runs. The Harwich Mariners scored in the seventh on an RBI double by Kyle Barrett, a two-run single by C.J. Hinojosa, and a three-run double by Skye Bolt.
Robby Kalaf struck out six hitters en route to the the Harwich Mariners win. The Harwich Mariners' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits.
Despite the loss, the Chatham Anglers' P.J. Conlon dominated the Harwich Mariners' batters, giving up one run and striking out seven.
Conlon was charged with his third loss of the year.
