Five first-inning runs helped the Chatham Anglers (16-21) to an 8-3 win over the Brewster Whitecaps (13-24) at Veterans Field on Friday.
The Chatham Anglers scored in the first on an RBI single by Chris Shaw, an error, and a three-run triple by Justin Jones.
Jones racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Chatham Anglers.
Jerry Keel had an impressive outing against the Brewster Whitecaps' lineup. The Brewster Whitecaps managed just two hits off of Keel, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out two during his five innings of work.
Zach Gibbons racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Brewster Whitecaps. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the ninth inning.
Tyger Talley ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in two innings, walked two and struck out none.
