The Chatham Anglers (12-12) built an early edge on Wednesday, but the Wareham Gatemen (8-17) roared back to steal a 2-1 victory at Veterans Field.

While the Chatham Anglers led until the seventh inning, the Wareham Gatemen worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Chris Chinea.

Brock Hartson kept contact to a minimum, striking out 11 the Chatham Anglers batters. Hartson allowed one earned run, three hits and three walks over seven innings.

Jordan Hillyer was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Wareham Gatemen batters and allowing zero runs.

Zack Burdi (1-1) took the loss for the Chatham Anglers. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
