An ace performance by Kevin Duchene lifted the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (17-14) to an 8-1 win over the Falmouth Commodores (17-13) on Wednesday at Arnie Allen Diamond.

Duchene's nine strikeouts helped the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox to the victory. The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox's pitcher gave up just two hits over six shutout innings.

Five runs in the first three innings helped the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox blow out the Falmouth Commodores. A sacrifice fly by Hunter Cole, an RBI single by Rob Fonseca, a passed ball, and an RBI single by A.J. Simcox in the first inning and an RBI double by Cole during the second inning helped the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox put some runs on the board early.

Jordan Tarsovich did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, reaching base four times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first, second, and sixth innings.

Kevin McCanna ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
