The Orleans Firebirds (17-11) and the Wareham Gatemen (9-20) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Orleans Firebirds that eventually took advantage of them in a 7-3 win at Spillane Field.

Reilly Hovis pitched lights out for the Orleans Firebirds. Hovis gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his three innings of work.

Willie Calhoun had two extra-base hits for the Wareham Gatemen. He singled in the second and seventh innings and doubled in the first and ninth innings.

Andrew Zapata (1-2) took the loss for the Wareham Gatemen. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
