The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (23-26) and the Brockton Rox (27-22) both had scoring chances on Friday, but it was the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 5-4 win at Campanelli Stadium.
Michael Rizzitello had two extra-base hits for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He doubled in the second and seventh innings and singled in the eighth innings.
Alec Morrison had an impressive outing against the Brockton Rox's lineup. Morrison held the Brockton Rox hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.
Tom Stoffel did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Brockton Rox, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first innings and tripled in the sixth inning.
Christian Campbell (2-1) took the loss for the Brockton Rox. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
