The Pittsfield Suns (22-15) beat the Brockton Rox (23-15) 5-2 on Friday at Wahconah Park behind Tyler Bell, who had two extra base hits.
He tripled in the second inning, singled in the sixth inning, and homered in the eighth inning.Jamin McCann's seven strikeouts helped the Pittsfield Suns to the victory. McCann allowed no earned runs, four hits and three walks over seven innings.
Tom Stoffel did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Brockton Rox, reaching base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the first innings.
Jon Pusateri couldn't get it done on the bump for the Brockton Rox, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
The Pittsfield Suns were sparked by Bell and Zack Tower, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.
