Story by Narrative Science.

Tom Marcinczyk had two extra base hits, helping the Brockton Rox (22-10) to a 5-2 victory over the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (10-21) on Thursday at Doyle Field.

He homered in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

The Brockton Rox relied on Simon Mathews to eat up innings en route to the win. Mathews allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out one over six innings of work.

Michael Rizzitello did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs, reaching base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the seventh inning.

The Brockton Rox had no answer for Alec Morrison, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Morrison held the Brockton Rox hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Akaash Agarwal was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
