Tuesday was a great day for Gary Tesch, as he clubbed three home runs to carry the Pittsfield Suns (16-14) to a 12-2 victory over the Seacoast Mavericks (16-14) at Leary Field.
Tesch racked up seven RBIs on five hits for the Pittsfield Suns. He singled in the first and sixth innings and homered in the second, fourth, and ninth innings.
Six runs in the first three innings helped the Pittsfield Suns blow out the Seacoast Mavericks. An RBI single by Jeff McGarry during the first inning and an RBI single by Dan Donahue and a home run by Tesch in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Pittsfield Suns.
Phil Reese picked up the win for the Pittsfield Suns. Reese pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out four.
Matt Wynne (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked two and struck out one.
