The Top Speed Baseball (31-4) beat the Sacramento Heat (13-18) 6-5 on Friday at Drake High behind Matthew Haskins, who had two extra base hits.

Joe Mello had an impressive outing against the Sacramento Heat's lineup. Mello held the Sacramento Heat hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Braxton Phillips racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Sacramento Heat. He homered in the first inning.

The Top Speed Baseball's lineup had no answer for Connor Briare. The Top Speed Baseball managed just one hit off of Briare, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his three innings of work.

Ryan Eddy improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Top Speed Baseball. He allowed four runs over six innings. Eddy struck out nine, walked one and gave up seven hits.

Matt Gunter was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked four and struck out two.

The Top Speed Baseball were sparked by Jackson Slaid and Haskins, who teamed up for four hits and five RBIs.
