A great effort by Matt Packer carried the Normal CornBelters (34-34) to a 2-0 win in seven innings over the Rockford Aviators on Sunday at The Corn Crib.

Packer held the Rockford Aviators (29-40) scoreless during his seven innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up nine.

Cole Green (2-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
