Darlington Mitchell collected three hits, helping the Big Bend (20-15) to a 6-5 victory over the Yakima Valley (24-14) on Wednesday at BBCC Baseball Field .

OSullivan Patrick had an impressive outing against the Yakima Valley's lineup. Patrick held the Yakima Valley hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Andrew Castillo paced the Yakima Valley at the plate. Castillo went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the first and third innings.

The Big Bend couldn't get anything going so long as Landon Messmore was on the hill. Messmore held the Big Bend hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Price Kaleb got his fifth win for the Big Bend despite allowing five runs over six innings. Kaleb struck out seven, walked none and gave up eight hits.

Darion Simmons was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
