The Joliet Slammers (40-55) and the Gateway Grizzlies (49-46) both had scoring chances on Wednesday, but it was the Joliet Slammers that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 4-2 win at Silver Cross Field.

Grant DeBruin had a hot bat for the Joliet Slammers. DeBruin went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the seventh inning.

Richard Seigel was hot from the plate for the Gateway Grizzlies. Seigel went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Kevin McNorton improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Joliet Slammers. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Andrew Aizenstadt (2-4) took the loss for the Gateway Grizzlies. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
