Bryan Soloman went 2-3 and hit a home run, sparking the Florence Freedom (40-48) to a 9-7 victory over the Joliet Slammers (34-55) on Wednesday at Silver Cross Field.

Grant DeBruin racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Joliet Slammers. He singled in the first and eighth innings.

Casey Henn recorded his ninth win of the year for the Florence Freedom. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Henn struck out four, walked one and gave up six hits.

Kody McFarland was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out four.
