A walk-off single from Ozney Guillen brought home the winning run for the Normal CornBelters (47-41) in a 4-3 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (51-37) in 11 innings at The Corn Crib on Wednesday.
Guillen racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Normal CornBelters. He singled in the eleventh inning.
Mike Schwartz racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Normal CornBelters. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and eleventh innings.
The Lake Erie Crushers had no answer for Jason Postill, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Postill held the Lake Erie Crushers hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three.
Eric Anderson recorded his first win of the year for the Normal CornBelters. Anderson struck out one, walked one and gave up no hits.
Brandon Smith couldn't get it done on the bump for the Lake Erie Crushers, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
