The Normal CornBelters (43-41) and the Traverse City Beach Bums (35-50) each put runners in scoring position on Friday, but the Normal CornBelters capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-3 win at The Corn Crib.

Matt Packer racked up six strikeouts in the the Normal CornBelters win. Packer allowed two earned runs, eight hits and two walks over seven innings.

Jose Vargas put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Casey Delgado ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his sixth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
