Hall stars as the Schaumburg Boomers defeat the Gateway Grizzlies, 18-7

Sunday was a great day for Gerard Hall, as he clubbed three home runs to carry the Schaumburg Boomers (48-33) to an 18-7 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies (46-35) at GCS Ballpark.

The Schaumburg Boomers continued to pile on the runs until the end of the game. The Schaumburg Boomers scored five runs in the last three innings to finish off the blowout win. A three-run home run by Michael Valadez and a two-run home run by Joe De Pinto helped the Schaumburg Boomers score five runs in the fifth. The Schaumburg Boomers had four hits in the inning.

Josh Adams put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Gateway Grizzlies. He singled in the second and fifth innings, tripled in the sixth inning, and doubled in the eighth inning.

Charle Rosario recorded his first win for the Schaumburg Boomers even though he allowed six runs over six innings. Rosario struck out eight, walked two and gave up seven hits.

Tyler Thompson (3-3) took the loss for the Gateway Grizzlies. He allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out 10.

The Schaumburg Boomers easily handled the Gateway Grizzlies pitching as seven hitters combined for 16 hits, 18 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
