Story by Narrative Science.

The Schaumburg Boomers (45-31) shut the door early on the Evansville Otters (45-29), capturing a 12-5 victory on Tuesday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Schaumburg Boomers to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Tony Delmonico in the first inning and an RBI single by Alexi Colon during the second inning fueled the Schaumburg Boomers' offense early.

Anthony Smith had an impressive outing against the Evansville Otters' lineup. Smith gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

The Schaumburg Boomers couldn't get anything going as long as Evan Mott was pitching. Mott held the Schaumburg Boomers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Trevor Walch (5-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in four innings, walked four and struck out four.
