Jeremy Nowak hit two home runs as the Evansville Otters (43-27) took home a 6-4 victory over the Joliet Slammers (28-44) at Bosse Field on Friday.
He homered in the second and fifth innings.The Joliet Slammers' lineup had no answer for Evan Mott. The Joliet Slammers managed just one hit off of Mott, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his 1 2/3 innings of work.
Russell Moldenhauer was hot from the plate for the Joliet Slammers. Moldenhauer went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.
William Oliver recorded his first win of the year for the Evansville Otters. He allowed four runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered eight hits.
Kody McFarland (3-4) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
