The Traverse City Beach Bums (19-30) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 6-1 to the Normal CornBelters (26-22) on Friday.

A solo home run by Ozney Guillen gave the Normal CornBelters the lead in the seventh inning.

Patrick McKenna reached base three times in the game for the Normal CornBelters. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the ninth inning.

Matt Packer picked up the win for the Normal CornBelters. Packer allowed one earned run, seven hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Ian MacDougall ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
