A walk-off single from Gabriel Shaw brought home the winning run for the River City Rascals (29-18) in a 5-4 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers (26-21) at T. R. Hughes Ballpark on Thursday.
Brian Hansen racked up two RBIs on two hits for the River City Rascals. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the ninth inning.
Nick Kennedy brought the heat against the Schaumburg Boomers during his outing. The Schaumburg Boomers managed just one hit off of Kennedy, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 1 2/3 innings of work.
Tyler Sciacca paced the Schaumburg Boomers at the plate. Sciacca went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the fourth innings and singled in the second and sixth innings.
Shaw improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the River City Rascals. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Dexter Price ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
