Matt Bywater held the Windy City ThunderBolts (16-29) scoreless for eight innings to boost the Southern Illinois Miners (25-21) to a 2-0 victory.

Bywater struck out three and allowed two walks and four hits.

The Southern Illinois Miners had no answer for Victor Larez, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Southern Illinois Miners managed just one hit off of the the Windy City ThunderBolts' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Josh Spence couldn't get it done on the bump for the Windy City ThunderBolts, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
