The Evansville Otters (26-17) took down the Joliet Slammers 7-1 on Sunday at Silver Cross Field after slamming the Joliet Slammers (17-26) with four runs in the ninth inning.

The Evansville Otters scored in the ninth on an RBI single by Phillip Wilson, an RBI triple by Josh Allen, a sacrifice fly by John Schultz, and a solo home run by Shayne Houck.

It was a good day at the plate for the Evansville Otters' Nik Balog. Balog went 4-5 and drove in one. He singled in the first, fourth, sixth, and eighth innings.

Blake Monar racked up 11 strikeouts in the the Evansville Otters win. Monar allowed one earned run, two hits and three walks over six innings.

Blair Walters (1-4) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed three runs.
