The Gateway Grizzlies (30-13) pounded the Florence Freedom (17-22) on Wednesday 9-2 at GCS Ballpark.

The Gateway Grizzlies were led by a flawless day at the dish by Waldrip, who went 4-4 against the Florence Freedom's pitching.

The Gateway Grizzlies got the win thanks in large part to JaVaun West's dominant, 11-strikeout performance. West allowed two earned runs on seven hits and three walks over seven innings.

Rob Kelly led the Florence Freedom's offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning.

Dave Middendorf (2-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked two and struck out none.
