Ijames' big day not enough as the Washington Wild Things fall to the Traverse City Beach Bums, 3-2

Stewart Ijames hit two home runs, but it wasn't enough to carry the Washington Wild Things (21-14) to a win on Wednesday, as the Washington Wild Things fell to the Traverse City Beach Bums (14-21) 3-2 at CONSOL Energy Park.

The Washington Wild Things jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Washington Wild Things were ahead until the sixth inning, but the Traverse City Beach Bums would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on a solo home run by Chuck Ghysels.

Josh Miller was hot from the plate for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Miller went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Ghysels pitched lights out for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Ghysels held the Washington Wild Things hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four.

Will Rankin got the win, running his season record to 1-2. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Alfonso Yevoli (2-2) took the loss for the Washington Wild Things. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
