Both the Gateway Grizzlies (21-12) and the River City Rascals (19-12) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Gateway Grizzlies that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-3 win at GCS Ballpark.

The fact that the Gateway Grizzlies grouped all of their runs into the fifth inning helped them take advantage of their hits.

Landon Hernandez racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Gateway Grizzlies. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Patrick Crider brought the heat against the Gateway Grizzlies during his outing. Crider gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Tyler Thompson got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over five innings. Thompson struck out four, walked none and gave up seven hits.

Tim Koons (0-1) took the loss for the River City Rascals. He lasted just four innings, walked six, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
