Early lead not enough for the Washington Wild Things, drop 2-1 decision to the Lake Erie Crushers

The Washington Wild Things (19-11) built an early edge on Thursday, but the Lake Erie Crushers (15-15) roared back to steal a 2-1 victory at All Pro Freight Stadium.

The Lake Erie Crushers took the lead in the sixth inning on a two-run single by Matt Dickason.

It was a good day at the plate for the Lake Erie Crushers' Vincent Meija. Meija went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.

Zac Treece pitched lights out for the Lake Erie Crushers. The Washington Wild Things managed just three hits off of the the Lake Erie Crushers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Devin Malone pitched lights out for the Washington Wild Things. Malone held the Lake Erie Crushers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Scott Dunn (2-2) took the loss for the Washington Wild Things. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
