The Gateway Grizzlies need walk-off single to beat the Lake Erie Crushers, 3-2

Story by Narrative Science.

A walk-off single from Madison Beaird brought home the winning run for the Gateway Grizzlies (18-10) in a 3-2 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (13-14) in 14 innings at GCS Ballpark on Sunday.

Beaird paced the Gateway Grizzlies at the plate. Beaird went 3-7 and drove in one. He singled in the eighth, thirteenth, and fourteenth innings.

Zach Arneson got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Arneson struck out three, walked none and gave up no hits.

Trevor Longfellow ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
