The Schaumburg Boomers (15-12) and the Windy City ThunderBolts (11-15) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Schaumburg Boomers that eventually took advantage of them in a 4-2 win at Standard Bank Stadium.

Alexi Colon had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He tripled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Anthony Smith picked up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. Smith pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, eight hits and no walks while striking out three.

Despite the loss, the Windy City ThunderBolts' Victor Larez dominated the Schaumburg Boomers' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.

Jason Kafka (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
