The Gateway Grizzlies (17-10) and the Lake Erie Crushers (13-13) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Gateway Grizzlies that eventually took advantage of them in a 2-1 win at GCS Ballpark.

Madison Beaird got on base three times in the game for the Gateway Grizzlies. He also drove in one runner. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the ninth inning.

JaVaun West handled the Lake Erie Crushers' lineup with ease, racking up nine strikeouts. West allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk over seven innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Lake Erie Crushers' Brian Haggett. Haggett went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.
