The Normal CornBelters get key pinch-hit in 9-6 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers

Tyler Shover was cold coming off the bench, but Shover warmed up quickly as Shover stroked a key pinch-hit double in the three to lead the Normal CornBelters (8-14) to a 9-6 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (13-10) on Wednesday at All Pro Freight Stadium.

With the Normal CornBelters leading by one in the third inning, Shover came to the plate and doubled.

Sam Judah racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Normal CornBelters. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

Cole Brocker put together a nice outing. Brocker held the Lake Erie Crushers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Anderson Hidalgo racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Charley Short improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Normal CornBelters. Short struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Matt Rein was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
