The Joliet Slammers (7-12) jumped on the River City Rascals (13-6) early on their way to a 4-1 win on Friday at Silver Cross Field, scoring three runs in the first inning.

A three-run home run by Russell Moldenhauer delivered the runs in the first. The Joliet Slammers had three hits in the inning.

Moldenhauer racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Joliet Slammers.

Kody McFarland picked up the win for the Joliet Slammers. McFarland pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks while striking out three.

Ethan Carter put together a nice outing. Carter held the Joliet Slammers hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Craig Goodman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
