An outstanding effort by JaVaun West lifted the Gateway Grizzlies (11-5) to a 2-1 win over the Frontier Greys on Sunday at GCS Ballpark.
West got the win for the Gateway Grizzlies thanks to 10 strikeouts. West allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk over 7 2/3 innings.
Matt Chavez led the Frontier Greys (3-13)'s offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning.
Keith Picht (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
