The Normal CornBelters (2-4) continued to pile up the runs on Thursday, scoring three runs in the last three innings, on the way to a 10-1 landslide win over the River City Rascals (4-2) at The Corn Crib.
The Normal CornBelters scored four runs in the third on an RBI single by Mike Schwartz, a two-run single by Roman Hernandez, a double by Aaron Dudley, an RBI single by Sam Judah, and a sacrifice fly by Tyler Shover.
Shover racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Normal CornBelters.
Michael Schweiss picked up the win for the Normal CornBelters. Schweiss pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks while striking out four.
Josh Ludy paced the River City Rascals at the plate. Ludy went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the eighth inning.
Ethan Carter (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
