Jose Gonzalez went 2-3 as the Southern Illinois Miners (1-3) took home a 4-2 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers (0-4) at Rent One Park, Marion, IL on Tuesday.

Tyler Lavigne picked up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. Lavigne pitched six innings and allowed no earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out three.

A bright spot for the Schaumburg Boomers in the defeat was Seth Webster, who allowed only two runs while striking out five.

The Schaumburg Boomers were led by Justin Vasquez's hitting. Vasquez went 2-5 and scored one run. He singled in the fifth inning.

Webster (0-1) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers.
