A walk-off solo home run from Zachary Bricknell brought home the winning run for the Lake Erie Crushers (8-5) in a 2-1 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers at All Pro Freight Stadium on Saturday.
Craig Hertler was solid at the plate for the Lake Erie Crushers. Hertler went 3-4 and drove in one. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.
Connor Whalen handled the Schaumburg Boomers (6-7)'s lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Whalen allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over five innings.
Charle Rosario was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Lake Erie Crushers batters and allowing zero runs.
Jason Wilson improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. Wilson struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.
Clark Labitan (1-2) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
