The Alameda Merchants (14-17) shut the door early on the Nevada Big Horns (8-25), capturing an 18-2 victory on Saturday at McQueen HS.

An RBI single by Michael Echavia, a two-run single by Jordan Grubbs, a two-run single by Grubbs, and a groundout by Conner Jauch in the first inning and , a sacrifice fly by JR Davis, a single by Echavia, an error, and an RBI single by Jauch during the second inning helped the Alameda Merchants put some runs on the board early.Grubbs racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Alameda Merchants.
Richard Kerr was solid at the plate for the Nevada Big Horns. Kerr went 2-3 and scored two runs. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Ricky Delgado got the win, running his season record to 1-4. He allowed one run over four innings. Delgado struck out seven, walked two and gave up five hits.
Jake Chambers couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Nevada Big Horns, taking a loss. He allowed 11 runs in three innings, walked three and struck out none.
