The Alameda Merchants jump on the Nevada Big Horns early and coast to 10-2 win

The Alameda Merchants (5-4) shut the door early on the Nevada Big Horns (3-6), capturing a 10-2 victory on Saturday at College of Alameda.

The game was decided quickly as the Alameda Merchants exerted their will early with eight runs in the first three innings.

A single by Shea Sbranti, a fielder's choice, and a groundout by Phil Clark during the second inning fueled the Alameda Merchants' offense early.

Marcus Williams went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Alameda Merchants. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the third inning.

Andrew Herrera racked up eight strikeouts in the the Alameda Merchants win. Herrera allowed two earned runs on eight hits and no walks over six innings.

Eli Davidann ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in three innings, walked five and struck out three.
